From August 9 to 15 of 2009, the HKAHC and HKAIH Chairman Thomas Wu, Director Laputa Poon and HKAHC Team - Jackey Tse and Stanley Shum together with HKAIH Barry Beck, Kyle Simms and Mike Lam brought eighteen HKAIH students to Beijing to participate in an intense summer camp at the Hokay Ice Centre.
Each day the students had Putonghua lessons, 1.5 hours of on ice training and a 45 minute training session at Hokay Ice Centre. As intense as the training was, the students had a great time enjoying the sites, sounds and tastes of Beijing.
During the trip, the HKAIH team had the chance to play an exhibition game with the HOKAY Ice Dragons and 2 more exhibition games in Beijing with the Century Star team.
The HKAIH team was also privileged to be invited to meet the Vice Chairman of the China Winter Sports Association, Mr Lan Li and the General Secretary of Chinese Ice Hockey Association on Aug 11.
The training camp was a great success and we look forward to having more exchange opportunities in the near future.
