Hong Kong Youth Ice Hockey League
To all club members and players:
Hong Kong Ice Hockey Association is hosting the first Hong Kong Youth Ice Hockey League in collaboration with Hong Kong Amateur Hockey Club. The league will be divided into 3 divisions including U8, U10, U12, while U14 is to be confirmed. In addition the league will also be part of the Junior National Team Development Program.
The league games will be played at Elements and Dragon Centre, it will be club based with each club selecting their best players into the Junior National Team Development Program. These players will represent Hong Kong in other regional tournaments.
The ultimate goal is to develop the best players with limited resources, in turn help alleviate the financial burden on each player.
Currently Gold Club, HKAIH, DBEES and Empire Skate have committed to the league competition. Please contact the respective club for registration.

TVB program ¡§Sports Like No Other¡¨ featuring Ice Hockey
The Jade channel on TVB will have a 13-episode show called <Sports Like No Other> introducing non-mainstream sports in Hong Kong. Representatives from different sports fields will be invited as guests for each episode. Through filming practice sessions, competitions and other activities, the aim is to introduce the sport to viewers to provide professional knowledge and to increase interest in the sport.
The sport of ice hockey will be featured in the first episode, show details as follows:

Firsthand report on 2013 IIHF Annual Congress in Stockholm, Sweden
Hong Kong ice hockey finally returns to the world stage! This uplifting news excites the whole community and it is certainly a shot in the arm for every ice hockey player in Hong Kong. Hong Kong media traveled to Sweden and Finland in May 2013 to record the memorable moment at the 2013 IIHF Annual Congress. They also witnessed the finals of the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship and met the newborn champion.

Hong Kong is qualified to play in the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Program after 26 years
(Stockholm, 16th May, 2013) ¡VHong Kong will re-set her foot on the stage of international ice hockey since 1987 after the annual congress of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF announced today in Stockholm that Hong Kong is qualified to play in the Senior Men Category of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship.

Mr. Thomas WU has been elected as the Vice President (Asia/ Oceania) of IIHF
Dear all,
We are glad to inform you that our chairman, Mr. Thomas WU has just been elected by acclamation as the Vice President (Asia/Oceania) of International Ice Hockey Federation at its 135thGeneral Congress meeting held in Tokyo on September 26. Mr. WU is the first Chinese council member of International Ice Hockey Federation.

HKIHA Referee Clinic 2012
The HKIHA will be hosting a Level 1 Referee's clinic for those that are interested in becoming a Game Official. Interested parties must have good knowledge of hockey, good skater, coachable, willing to learn and good command of English. All classroom and on ice sessions must be attended in order to pass the Level 1. We encourage HKAHC players to join the program since international community needs more Game officials for future development.
Level 1-
* All Classroom Sessions @ Olympic House and On Ice Sessions @ Mega Ice
* Classroom Session (Part 1) on Saturday, August 25 from 10am to 2pm
* Classroom Session (Part 2) on Saturday, September 1 from 10am to 2pm
* On Ice session (Part 1) on Wednesday, September 12 from 8:15pm to 9:15pm (9:15-11pm - referee a HKL D3 practice game)
* On Ice session (Part 2) on Wednesday, September 19 from 8:15pm to 9:15pm (9:15-11pm - referee a HKL D3 practice game)
* Fee:HK$500 (non-refundable)
For those that have already passed the Level 1 (or above) can attend this clinic for free of charge, subject to availability.
Note-Level 1 must be completed and passed before enrolling Level 2.
