The 2024/25 HKAIH & HKAHC Annual Dinner was successfully held at THE ONE in Tsim Sha Tsui on July 12, 2025! This annual gala brought together players, coaches, and distinguished guests to celebrate the vibrant development and boundless potential of ice hockey in Hong Kong.
This year's dinner was themed "Ice hockey to the South· Diversity and Inclusion". The concept of "Ice hockey to the South" refers to promoting ice sports, traditionally popular in northern regions, to southern areas. In recent years, HKAIH has focused on expanding its training network in the New Territories and Islands, having installed synthetic ice rinks in Yuen Long, North District, and Wong Tai Sin. With an additional rink soon to be completed in Tuen Mun, a total of four new synthetic ice rinks will have been added. This initiative introduces northern ice hockey culture to Hong Kong and enables schools lacking formal ice sports facilities to commence basic training, truly embodying the practical spirit.
Regarding "Diversity and Inclusion", the aim is to break down the traditional perception of ice hockey as an "elite sport", ensuring that trainees can participate equally in training and competitions, regardless of their background, ethnicity, or economic circumstances. Through systematic training and competition platforms, we not only nurture more ice hockey talent for Hong Kong but are also committed to popularizing the sport within local communities, making ice hockey a sport truly accessible to all.
The Hong Kong Academy of Ice Hockey will continue to promote the deepening practice of these two core concepts with a professional, innovative, and inclusive approach, pioneering a broader future for ice hockey in Hong Kong. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all guests, sponsors, coaches, parents, and players for their tremendous support. In the future, we will continue to advance the popularization and professionalization of ice hockey, strengthen international exchanges, and create even more possibilities for the sport in Hong Kong.
Let us join hands and work together to propel Hong Kong ice hockey to new heights!
